The legend of Hong Kong -Blind Musician Dou Wun
Dou Wun has been singing on the radio for 15 years, and in his later years, he sang in the Hong Kong City Hall, cultural associations, universities and other venues, and his status is unique among the teachers. In 1971, the radio station canceled the nanyin program, and there was no singing environment for teachers in the market, so Dou Wun was reduced to singing on the streets. Although his fate was bumpy, Dou Wun said that whenever he met a noble person in a desperate situation, Bell Yung was one of them. Because of the encounter between the two, Yung recorded the repertoire sung by Dou Wun in his life, and the precious music art will not disappear.
This book discusses in detail the social and artistic value of Dou Wun's folk arts such as dishui nanyin, Dragon Boat, and Banyan, as well as a biography of Dou Wun's life, reflecting how the disadvantaged people struggle to survive in the flow of the times. This book is also a collection of Dou Wun's works, including the only autobiographical epic in the history of Naamyam, "Blind Dou Wun remembers his past 50 years of singing naamyam in Hong Kong".
This book will lead readers into the world of Dou Wun dishui nanyin, from which they can understand and appreciate the nanyin culture in Hong Kong.
