On May 12, 2008, an 8.2-magnitude earthquake occurred in Wenchuan, Sichuan. As a result, more than 370,000 people were injured, many of them required amputation.

With broken hands and lost feet, they could not find an exit in the dark, but the Humanitarian Project "StandTALL" provided them with comprehensive rehabilitation services and the installation of prosthetic limbs, helped them successfully broke through themselves, regained their confidence, stood up and shine on the road of rebirth, looked at a broader scenery of life, and shined in different fields with the tenacity that has been tempered for 15 years.

2023 is the 15th anniversary of the Wenchuan earthquake, and this book includes 15 survivors who escapes from death,
their story of turning pain into energy and shining on the road of life.
